Description: Intended for: Any staff member responsible for conducting performance reviews.

Note: This is a Performance Management Certificate Program elective.

Description: Managers have many opportunities to develop their employees but they may not always recognize them. One of the skills of effective managers is to recognize daily opportunities to develop, motivate, guide and support their employees. This will lead to your employees performing their best! The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the skills they need to help others expand their capabilities so that they will have the confidence to take on new challenges and work more independently. Topics include: explaining the benefits of developing others, recognizing the challenges in developing others, identifying opportunities to develop others, the six steps to use when developing others, and conducting focused development conversations.
