Head of Agriculture, Health and Environment Group.  One of three research groups at the Natural Resources Institute, which is a self-funding school of the University of Greenwich, UK, located at Chatham Maritime, Kent. 


Agriculture, Health and Environment Group has 26 staff members who work in a wide range of technical fields from molecular biology of viruses to rodent and migratory bird management.


Alan is a chemical ecologist by training working to develop insect behaviour-modifying chemicals to control crop pests and disease vectors in developing countries and has worked in 30 countries in Asia, Africa and South America over the past 31 years.
