Description:

An introduction to the photographic capabilities of computers and instruction in scanning color and black-and-white images. Students learn the fundamental working of the Photoshop CS4 and CS5 programs; explore many visual techniques and special effects utlilizing layers, artistic filters, and masks as they apply to publication and Web site development. This course will provide students with a working knowlege of the leading photo manipulation program, as well as explore more advanced features and uses of photoshop, with an emphasis on merging photographic images with digital technology. Students will begin to learn the Web-optimization process for readying their photographic images for inclusion into their Web sites.

Prerequisites: Requires access to a computer, the internet and a recent version of Adobe Photoshop on a capable windows or Mac computer. The instructor will be using CS5.
