NEW PLAY FESTIVAL by UCR MFA Playwrights

Some plays contain mature themes, sexual situations and strong language.

WE WERE HERE by Rachell Campbell

May 9, 11 & 17

THE HYSTERICALS by Kristopher Ide
When Goddess worshippers descend upon the conservative town of Midville, a young
woman discovers an empowering, new sexual identity.
May 10, 16 & 18

Rachell Campbell (Playwright) received a BA in Theatre from Azusa Pacific University and currently works as the literary intern at South Coast Repertory Theatre. As a playwright in UCR’s MFA program, she is dedicated to telling the stories of women and other stories that should never be forgotten.

Kristopher Ide (Playwright) received a BA from UC Davis in Comparative Literature with an emphasis in Ancient Greek and a minor in Dramatic Art. His play, Fools Afloat, was produced as a part of the ThirdEye Theatre Festival at UC Davis in 2010. Kristopher is also an actor and has been featured in productions of Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). At UCR he has acted in Detained in the Desert, Hamlet and Names and his one-act, Slow Zombies, was a part of UCR Playworks in 2012.
