UCR Orchestra
Ruth Charloff, conductor
Ralph Cato, baritone

The program includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, also known as the ‘London’ – the buoyant and brilliant final symphony of Haydn’s remarkable career. Baritone vocalist Ralph Cato joins the orchestra in Mahler’s deeply-felt Songs of a Wayfarer, Mahler’s first orchestral song cycle which vividly expresses the emotions and wild thoughts of a young man rejected in love, wandering the countryside in pain and passion. Also on the program is Balakirev’s colorful Overture on Russian Themes, Stravinsky’s cheerfully incisive First Suite for Small Orchestra, and the altogether unique Unanswered Question by American pioneer Charles Ives.

$10 General. $8 Students/Senior citizens. $6 children.
Show your UCR Alumni card to receive the student price.
