How to Shoot An Iraqi: US Drone Strikes and Wafaa Bilal’s Queer Calculus of Pain

Ronak K. Kapadia is a 2012-2013 UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Ethnic Studies at UC Riverside and will begin an appointment as Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Fall 2013.  He is currently at work on a book manuscript tentatively titled The Sensorial Life of Empire: US Counterinsurgency and the Queer Calculus of the Long War.  Ronak holds a BA with honors and distinction in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University and received his PhD in American Studies in the Department of Social and Cultural Analysis at New York University in September 2012.
