Apostolos Andrikpoulos is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Amsterdam. His dissertation ‘Kinship, Citizenship and Inequality: West African migrants struggling over scarce resources’ examines the role of civic inequality in bringing migrants together and making kinship. He has done ethnographic fieldwork in the Netherlands, Ghana, and Greece.
