36th Annual Medicine Ways Conference

For over three decades, the Annual Medicine Ways Conference has been hosted by the Native American Student Association and Native American Student Programs at UCR. Featured guests from across the nation are invited to partake in this unique event. Various discussions and workshops emphasizing the respected theme are offered throughout the days events. Please join us as we talk about Sustaining Unity in the Community!
This year’s conference’s is organized about the theme “Relationships: Sustaining Unity in the Community”. We have lined up a series of dynamic speakers that will be discussing differing ways that we can maintain the health and balance in all the relationships in our lives, community, and environment. Speakers will cover the areas of art, poetry, healing & healthy relationships, the importance of maintaining a relationship with the environment, and self-love and acceptance.

10:20-11:00 Keynote: Gene Tagaban of the Native American Wellness Center
11:00-11:10 Break
11:10-11:30 Breakout session 1 *session workshops/presentations will be repeated throughout the day.
12:00-1:30 Lunch (Performances by Miracle Dolls, Stepahanie Sallee, Raye Zaragoza)
1:30-1:40 Break
1:40-2:30 Breakout session 2
2:30-2:40 Break
2:40-3:30 Breakout session 3
3:30-4:30 Keynote: Cecilia Firethunder of the Native American Wellness Center
4:30-6:00 Dinner and Birdsongs with the Madrigal Family
**Parking in Lot 1 and all meals are complimentary for conference attendees.
