Linear systems have played a central role in algebraic geometry. In this talk, we are going to study the adjoint linear system. During the first lecture, we will briefly review some basic concepts in linear systems and introduce Fujita's conjectures. There are basically three different approaches to prove the Fujita's conjectures. In the second lecture, we will introduce Sakai's cohomological method and the singularity method from a birational point of view.
