<p>Small Group Training is a 4-week program that combines the motivation of a group workout with the expertise of a certified personal trainer. You’ll meet twice a week for 60-minute sessions, training alongside a small group of people with similar goals. Each week builds on the last, with built-in progression to help you safely and confidently level up as you go.</p>

Registered patrons must be present at the start of the class to maintain their registration status. If a registered patron arrives late, they will forfeit their spot in the class and must wait in the walk-in/standby line. Walk-in entry from the standby line is subject to class capacity and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in entry is not guaranteed.</p>

Designed for adults with little to no swimming experience, this class focuses on fundamental water safety skills, basic swim techniques, and comfort in the pool environment. Participants will learn to float, glide, and kick while developing proper breathing techniques and coordination.</p>

<p>Take your swimming skills to the next level with our Level 2 Adult Group Swim Lessons! Designed for those who already feel comfortable in the water, this 30-minute class focuses on refining stroke mechanics, improving techniques, and building endurance to swim longer distances. Participants will work on treading water, mastering breathing techniques, and enhancing overall confidence in deeper water.</p>

<p>With guidance from experienced instructors and a supportive group setting, you’ll develop the skills needed to swim efficiently and safely while enjoying the water.</p>

Each class focsues on the fundamentals of movement-stances, footwork, strikes, and the art of Ukemi (the art of the fall or getting out of the way)- while introducing dynamic pins and throws, including work with one of multiple attackers. Students will practice suwariwaza (kneeling techniques), hanmi handachi (half-standing techniques), and tachiwaza (standing techniques), beginning each class with warm-up and conditioning exercises. Instruction emphasizes clean, precise movement, encouraging thoughtful connection with partners and a deeper awareness of breath, balance, and intention. You are invited to discover a modern Japanese martial art that not only builds strength, coordination, and confidence, but also offers a pathway to move more mindfully, beautifully, and with purpose- on and off the mat.</p>

This class focuses on more advanced techniques and higher level katas (forms). In this course, introduction to tournament sparring and competition criteria, skills and rules will also be covered. Competition is recommended but not required as it is a crucial method for testing and improving karate skills. All advanced students will be asked to join the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) to help promote our Riverside program and it also covers insurance for competing at certain tournaments. <p>Our Level 1 Adult Swim Lessons are perfect for beginners looking to build confidence in the water. Designed for adults with little to no swimming experience, this class focuses on fundamental water safety skills, basic swim techniques, and comfort in the pool environment. Participants will learn to float, glide, and kick while developing proper breathing techniques and coordination.</p>

<p>With patient, certified instructors and a supportive atmosphere, you'll progress at your own pace while gaining the skills needed to enjoy swimming safely and confidently. Join us to take the first step towards a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment!</p>

<p>Our Level 1 Adult Swim Lessons are perfect for beginners looking to build confidence in the water. Designed for adults with little to no swimming experience, this class focuses on fundamental water safety skills, basic swim techniques, and comfort in the pool environment. Participants will learn to float, glide, and kick while developing proper breathing techniques and coordination.</p>

<p>With patient, certified instructors and a supportive atmosphere, you'll progress at your own pace while gaining the skills needed to enjoy swimming safely and confidently. Join us to take the first step towards a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment!</p>

Participants will work on treading water, mastering breathing techniques, and enhancing overall confidence in deeper water.</p>

<p>With guidance from experienced instructors and a supportive group setting, you’ll develop the skills needed to swim efficiently and safely while enjoying the water.</p>

Students must have prior instructor approval before being accepted into this class. Judo Gis are required. This class focuses on Tachi Waza (standing techniques) and Ne Waza (ground techniques). Kata will also be taught and practiced on a selection basis. Competition is recommended but not required as it is a crucial method for testing and improving judo skills. All advanced students are asked to become members of USA Judo to help support the Riverside Dojo's certification. USA Judo membership is not mandatory if students choose not to compete. Rank advancement is much slower in the advanced class and shall be on an invitation basis based on the student's performance and attendance, as well as accumulation of required USA Judo points. It was proven to be good for coordination, balance and is low intensity Aerobic exercise. It is an Internal Form of kung fu. T'ai chi is used for stress reduction, lowering blood pressure, improving balanceas well as a traditional martial art. The class will be taught in a step by step method and include ch'i kung breathing exercises, traditional health promotion exercises adn a step-by-step instruction in the Yang Style Symmetrical Form. Researchers from LLU showed the curriculum we teach at UCR improved balance adn lowered blood pressures in adults and Diabetics with neuropathy. <br>Preferred Education, Qualification, and Experience: Pursuit of a degree in a health-related field. Six months of relevant experience in the fitness, health, or wellness industry. Proven leadership ability. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is preferred at the time of application but not required.</p>
