S2S is a 2-day event where particpants perform experiments to determine if a fish sample is correctly labeled. On the first day of the program, each participant will: Extract DNA from 2 fish samples, set up and run PCR samples, run samples on agarose gel. On day 2, UCR Faculty wil prpare the DNA samples for sequencing. The DNA will be provided to the particpants in groups. With guidance from UCR faculty and staff, the groups will: Analyze DNA sequences, learn about the evolutionary relationships of all the fish species used, prepare and present a poster of their results.
