Free EventThe Annual Southern California Eukaryotic Pathogen (SCEP) Symposium brings together researchers from more than 15 different labs from Southern California that investigate the inner workings and host response to these important pathogens. It is the aim of this symposium to bring together these like-minded but individual groups to facilitate interaction and collaboration.
Registration is free and we will circulate our annual abstract booklet via email. Parking details will be shared via email.
Our keynote speaker is Dr. Sarah L. Gaffen, Gerald P. Rodnan Professor, Division of Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology, University of Pittsburgh. Presentation title: “All Things Great and Seventeen: At the Crossroads of IL-17 Signaling in Fungal Immunity and Beyond".
We will also welcome Dr. Kent Hill, Professor, Microbiology, Immunology, & Molecular Genetics, University of Los Angeles, California who will give the morning invited talk. Presentation title: "Dynein Dragon Boat: Atomic Structure of the Trypanosome Axoneme Illuminates Mechanism of Flagellar Beating in Eukaryotes".
