The Citrus Research Board, the University of California, Riverside and numerous industry partners are hosting the Joint 21st Conference of the International Organization of Citrus Virologists (IOCV) and the 6th International Research Conference on Huanglongbing (IRCHLB) set for March 10-15, 2019 at the Riverside Convention Center in Riverside, California.
The mission of this joint conference is to assemble the greatest number possible from the international research community, regulatory agencies and commercial industry leaders with specific expertise on graft-transmissible diseases of citrus such as HLB, leprosis, tristeza, citrus variegated chlorosis, cachexia, stubborn and other citrus pathology topics.
These great citrus events always attract hundreds of participants from around the world. More than 470 people from a number of countries attended the 2017 IRCHLB while the IOCV membership counts over 200 scientists from 34 different citrus producing countries.
This research-driven conference will feature sessions on viral and bacterial diseases as well as HLB global status, summary of current research efforts and the vision for long term sustainable HLB management practices. The technical sessions will cover topics such as surveys and epidemiology, detection and diagnosis; pathogens and vectors genetics and biology, host-pathogen-vector interactions; vector biology and management; host breeding and tolerance/resistance, and more.
