Welcome to the 2023 Academic Sustainability Retreat at UC Riverside. Every year, students, staff and faculty come together to discuss the current sustainability operations, curriculum and research efforts on campus and strategize a way forward.
According to the AASHE-STARS report submitted in March 2021, UC Riverside attained a score of 20.18 points out of the possible 40.00 points in Sustainability Curriculum efforts. The Sustainability Curriculum areas reported included Academic Courses, Learning Outcomes, Undergraduate Program, Graduate Program, Immersive Experience, Sustainability Literacy Assessment, Incentives for Developing Courses and Campus as a Living laboratory. In Sustainability Research, UC Riverside scored 17.27 points out of the possible 18.00 points. The Sustainability Research areas reported included Research and Scholarship, Support for Sustainability Research and Open Access to Research. The next reporting season for UC Riverside is March 2024 and UC Riverside hopes to get higher points within the GOLD category or progress to the PLATINUM category.
