About this Event
View map Free EventFor four decades, NASA (Native American Student Association) and NASP (Native American Student Programs) have hosted the annual Medicine Ways Conference at UCR. Featured guests from across the nation have been invited to partake in this event by sharing stories and knowledge, where admission has always been free and open to the public. Within recent years our Medicine Ways Conference has encompassed a broad spectrum of topics and speakers including, Art is Medicine, Native Representation in Media, and Native Futurisms. For this year’s gathering, it was important to the current members of NASA to reflect on the origins of this conference's existence. Through discussions within our students’ organizations, NASA recognizes the importance of uplifting Native peoples' perspectives in academic settings, and decided on the this year's theme, Healing Through Traditions, where we hope to highlight local Natives and give space for speakers to share their stories.
