Diane Lefer writes, advocates for social justice, and works with non-human animals. Her most recent novel, Out of Place, looks at how the War on Terror changed the lives of people far from the attacks and the battlefield – and includes rattlesnakes, bears, one good dog, and lots of cats.
Ibrahim Nasrallah (Facebook)
Born in 1954 to Palestinian parents who were uprooted from their land in 1948; he writes in Arabic and has published to date 14 poetry collections, 22 novels, and books in literate and film critics. Nasrallah has received many literature awards including the Booker Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2018, the Katara Prize for Arabic Novels in 2016 and 2020. Many of his books are published in other languages including English, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Turkish and Farsi.
