The School of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is pleased to invite you to the Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Lecture titled 'Health Disparities in Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities' on Thursday, May 16, 2024 in Room 205 of the SOM Education Building II.

The event will begin at 11:45 with a light lunch, followed by the lecture from 12 noon to 1 pm.

This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Subica is a health disparities researcher and Associate Professor of Social Medicine, Population, and Public Health at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine. His current research focuses on the intersection of health and mental health disparities among vulnerable populations, including indigenous-colonized groups, persons of color, individuals with psychiatric disabilities, survivors of trauma, those experiencing homelessness, and underserved individuals. He employs community-based participatory action research, deliberative, and mixed methodologies to address these issues. Additionally, his work encompasses cultural trauma, multiracial identity and well-being, clinical assessment, and spirituality for culturally responsive stress coping and wellness.may
