Behavioral game theory is a branch of economics that studies how people actually behave in strategic situations, rather than how they should behave according to the standard assumptions of rationality and self-interest.

Rabbinical wisdom is the collective body of knowledge and teachings of the Jewish sages and rabbis throughout history, especially as recorded in the Talmud, the central text of Judaism.

In this talk, Rami Zwick, professor of marketing and associate dean for graduate programs at the UCR School of Business, will explore the connections, similarities, and differences between behavioral game theory and rabbinical wisdom, focusing on the problem of fair division, or how to allocate scarce resources among competing claimants.
