About this Event
This bilingual creative writing workshop is facilitated by Iván Aguirre (Hispanic Studies Department, UCR), Elena Cardona (Soka University of America), and Paula Cucurella (Hispanic Studies Department, UCR). The Fall 2024 first workshop sessions will take place on:
• October 25 in INTS 1111
The bilingual format of the workshop is designed to reflect the linguistic diversity of the participants, including students whose first language is Spanish, students who speak Spanish or English at home, and those who are familiar with Spanish and wish to experiment with literary creation in Spanish or in both languages.
Additionally, the workshop plans to publish an edited volume featuring a selection of texts written and developed during the sessions. However, participation in the workshop does not obligate students to submit their work for publication.
This workshop is hosted by the Hispanic Studies Department and made possible through a Chancellor’s Grant for Addressing Bias and Bigotry and is open to the academic community, students, faculty, and staff.
