Boren Awards Information Session

Come to our information session and learn from Jeff Cary, Outreach & Recruitment Manager for the Boren Awards with IIE.

Boren awards are unique in two ways: first, awards are for study of less commonly taught languages outside of Western Europe.  Second, students who receive Boren awards have a government service requirement, whereby the student agrees to work for a government agency for at least a year after graduation.

Boren scholarships are for enrolled undergraduate students, providing up to $20,000 for study abroad for a summer, semester or academic year. Campus application deadline is January 3, 2020, and there is a campus review process.

Boren fellowships are for enrolled graduate students, providing up to $24,000 for research abroad for applicant-defined time periods of six months to a year. Campus application deadline is January 3, 2020, and there is a campus review process.
