Learn more about the Desert Sands and Sky Islands - UC California Naturalist Course at UCR Palm Desert during this info session! The UC California Naturalist Program is an introduction to the wonders of our state’s unique ecology with a focus on the desert. The Winter 2023 program runs 11 weeks from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 11 to April 22, 2023. All classes will be held in person with field trips to various locations.

Using a science curriculum, students are instilled with a deep appreciation for the natural communities in California and leave inspired to become stewards of their local resources. Classes are taught by  Dr. Cameron Barrows and a team of experts, combining classroom and field experience in science, problem-solving, communication training and community service.
