We celebrate the creative and scholarly work of Distinguished Professor Byron Adams on occasion of his retirement, with a reading of his work on French music, and performances of his music, including a premiere choreographed for two dancers by Professor Linda Tomko.
The Department of Music honors the creative and scholarly work of musicologist and composer Byron Adams, Distinguished Professor at UCR, who will retire at the end of this academic year. This interdisciplinary program features four of his compositions for voice, piano, piano duet, and small ensemble, including a recently composed Musette for Dancing, choreographed for two dancers by Professor Linda Tomko, emeritus from the Dance Department. Distinguished Professor Walter Clark will read an excerpt of Byron Adams’s scholarly prose, on the Requiem by French composer Gabriel Fauré.
