Did you know… UCR students can choose a name to use on campus, called a “Lived Name,” and use it on your R’Card, class rosters, email address, transcript, diplomas, and other places? Also, UCR students can choose to share their pronouns with others in different ways?

These options are part of the Gender Recognition & Lived Name (GRLN) Policy for students, and you can learn more and ask questions about all the changes.

Join the UCR Registrar for a zoom presentation and Q&A session, including implementation updates and addressing barriers identified by our campus. Everyone is encouraged to submit questions prior to the zoom event. This presentation will also be recorded.

In September, UCR implemented the Gender Recognition & Lived Name Policy for students. This new GRLN presidential policy ensures all individuals are identified by their accurate gender identity and lived name on university-issued documents and in UC’s information systems by providing guidance on the collecting and reporting of gender identity, lived name, and sexual orientation (with systems for pronouns sharing encouraged).

Learn more about Gender Recognition & Lived Name Policy by visiting the GRLN Committee web site.
