About this Event
Join faculty and students from UC Riverside, UC San Diego, and UCLA for an afternoon of conversation about ongoing research in Chinese archaeology relating to human-environment interaction. The topic is broadly defined, and includes studies of food, climate, landscapes, and technology, divided into four roundtable sessions covering different methodological areas. All participants are invited to give a five-minute introduction to their research plans or recent research findings during one of the roundtable sessions, and contribute through discussion and Q&A.
The meeting will be in hybrid format. Participants must register and indicate if they will participate in person or online. Lunch will be provided for in-person participants (12-1 PM). It is hoped that this event will strengthen ties between UC campuses in the area of Chinese archaeology and related fields. After the discussion portion, we will have a conversation with scholars from the Fudan University Institute for Archaeological Science, with whom we wish to develop opportunities for exchange and cooperation.
