Creating Community Through Collaboration Tools

UCR’s central IT organization, Information Technology Solutions (ITS), has recently invested in industry-leading technology, including robust communication and collaboration tools. In this session attendees will learn how to leverage the available technology to create a more connected campus community, bolster cross-departmental collaboration, enhance campus-wide communication, improve workflows, and cultivate a positive workplace culture in an increasingly dynamic and hybrid work environment.

BIO

Alex Chrystal serves as the Manager of Communication & Training for UCR Information Technology Solutions (ITS) and has over 10 years of experience developing and executing effective communication strategies for STEM organizations. Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Chapman University and a Master of Arts in Human Communication Studies from California State University, Fullerton, it's clear that mathematics is her least favorite subject. Joking aside, Alex found her niche in STEM communication when she started her career in the environmental testing industry. Since then, her technical communication skills, business acumen, and college teaching experience have catapulted her into higher education IT.

The UCR Staff Conference is a two-day event created by and for UC Riverside staff, co-hosted by UCR Staff AssemblyLeaders of Excellence and Distinction (LEAD), and Human Resources Employee and Organizational Development.

 

Our 2023 event will include three official tracks: driving your career forwardself care / mental wellness; and creating & nurturing a culture of respect.
