About this Event

Please join us for the Creat’R Lab Maker Meetup series. The Maker Meetup will help bring together UCR community members from across the disciplines to break barriers and build connections between UCR makers. This meetup is hosted by the UCR Library Creat’R Lab and facilitated by Alvaro Alvarez, Innovative Media Librarian, and Ray Gonzalez, Maker Services Coordinator.

Each meeting will begin with either a guest speaker or a workshop/demo to help spark our collective creativity and innovation. The remaining time will be dedicated to questions, and the sharing of ideas and projects through informal conversations and show and tell.

Any UCR community member with any level of experience in creating and making is welcome to attend. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people, learn something new, and explore endless possibilities through exposure to new tools and approaches to making.

List of meetup topics for Fall 2020:

• Procreate and Digital Art, October 2 - Learn how to use the Procreate App to create digital art.
• Tinkercad and Prototyping, October 16 - Learn how to use Tinkercad, a free web-based 3D modeling and circuit building tool to help you create your next invention or idea.
• Making with EVA Foam, October 30 - EVA foam can be used to make various objects and is known for costumes and props. Learn how you can use it in your next DIY project!
• Making with a Cricut Cutting Machine, November 13 - Learn how to use a Cricut smart cutting machine that can cut out designs on paper, vinyl sticker sheets, fabric, and more!

All UCR community members are welcome to attend. Make sure to register with your UCR email. Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants. Participants are expected to follow and uphold UC Riverside's Principles of Community.
