Join us for "Critical Game Production: A Panel with Brendan Keogh, Alenda Chang, & Phillip Penix-Tadsen," a virtual event exploring the intersections of game production, sustainability, and regional perspectives from the Global South. This panel will bring together three renowned scholars who have made significant contributions to the critical study of game production. Brendan Keogh, Alenda Chang, and Phillip Penix-Tadsen will each present their work, delving into topics such as the ecological implications of game production, the socio-political dynamics of the industry, and how regional contexts shape and are shaped by digital game cultures. The session will offer a platform for discussing how these critical perspectives can illuminate the complexities of game production and foster sustainable practices within the industry.

The event will take place via Zoom on October 8, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:45 PM Pacific Time. It will begin with individual presentations from each speaker, followed by a discussion moderated by Nico Valdivia Hennig, who will synthesize the speakers' contributions and reflect on their impact on research-creation practices in Latin America. The final part of the session will be dedicated to audience questions, providing an opportunity for interactive dialogue. The panel will be recorded and shared on YouTube, with Spanish subtitles added to ensure accessibility for Latin American audiences.
