CNAS graduates (Bachelors & Masters) are invited to audition for the role of student speaker or singer of the UCR Alma Mater or National Anthem during the CNAS Commencement Ceremony. This year we will be holding one ceremony, therefore, we hope to select one student speaker and two student singers. The 2025 CNAS Commencement ceremony is scheduled for Monday, June 16, 2025 at 9:00 am. 

If you are eligible to participate in the 2025 CNAS Commencement Ceremony and have an overall 3.0 GPA or higher, you are strongly encouraged to apply.

To be considered for the student speaker or singer role - BACHELOR STUDENTS please submit this application form by Sunday March 30th with the following:

• Speaker Audition:  

  • The student speaker will deliver a three-minute commencement speech to thousands of students, staff, faculty, and guests. Please submit a draft of a three minute commencement speech with your application (changes can be made prior to auditions). 

• Singer Audition for UCR Alma Mater or National Anthem:

  • Please record yourself performing the UCR Alma Mater or National Anthem on your phone, laptop, or device and submit it with your application. You can access the song lyrics here:UCR Alma Mater and National Anthem.

Your application will be evaluated by the CNAS Commencement Working Group, and the top finalists for speaker and singers will be invited to an in-person audition tentatively scheduled for Tuesday April 8th, Wednesday April 9th and Thursday April 10th.
