The Dissertation Deep Dive is a summer writing retreat designed for graduate students working on their dissertation. Though, this writing retreat can benefit graduate students working on any long-term writing project, such as a dissertation proposal, written qualifying exam, or a manuscript. On each retreat day, lead Graduate Writing Center staff will facilitate a 30-40 minute workshop to set goals and intentions for the session, discuss strategies for resilience in the writing process, and engage in open conversations about academic writing. The rest of each retreat day will be dedicated to writing and, at the end of the session, sharing progress made with the group.

The event will run for four days over two weeks. This will be a hybrid event with in-person programming taking place at the Center for Ideas and Society. For in-person participants, breakfast, lunch, snacks, and coffee will be provided on each day. Space for in-person attendance is limited. Participants can also join us over Zoom and there is no limit to online attendees.
