Genomics and 3D Tissue Printing: Topics at Inaugural Biotechnology Education Series “Tech Talks”

The new MRB Life Sciences Wet Lab Incubator is pleased to invite UCR faculty, staff and students to the first in a monthly series of “Tech Talks” to be held in the atrium seminar room of the Multidisciplinary Research Building.

The first Tech Talk session will feature an update on the MRB Life Sciences wet lab Incubator’s equipment and tenants provided by David Pearson from the Office of Technology Partnerships at UCR.  Brandon Young and Jay Goth from Murrieta Genomics, the first tenants in the Incubator, will present their cutting-edge genomics services for UCR researchers and programs to fund and mentor genomics-based start-ups. Additionally, scientists from Aspect Biosciences in Vancouver will present revolutionary new 3D bio-printing technology, highlighting academic collaborations creating liver, pancreas, contractile tissue and immuno-oncology models suitable for drug discovery.

Future Tech Talks will take the format of “Lunch and Learns” on the last Tuesday of each month from 11 AM – 1 PM with a light lunch and refreshments generously provided by VWR/Avantor and Beckman Instruments.  Jay Goth and David Pearson are lining up speakers from leading global genomics companies for the Tech Talks to explore their technologies’ application to UCR’s research.  Each month, one of the MRB Life Sciences Incubator companies will give a presentation on its research program and opportunities for collaboration.

Please join us!  David and Jay
