DESCRIPTION:Graphic Literature and Line Play\n\nWorkshop led by Rocío Pich
ón-Rivière (UCI)\n\n\n \n\nThis bilingual workshop is an invitation to p
lay with lines on paper to tell stories combining words and imagery. No ar
t skills required!\n\nParticipants will be guided through exercises to fin
d play in line work and produce somatic landscapes (portraying how the bod
y feels rather than how it looks). Somatic landscapes can be figurative or
abstract. \n\n \n\nThe premise of this workshop is that our bodies can ex
press ideas through play\, doodles\, and rhythmic sequential art that woul
d never have come up working with just words. We will explore how visual t
hinking can advance moving our hands and create a narrative through a brie
f sequence of images\n\n (or image descriptions\, for those who want to wr
ite a sequential art script to develop with photography or video later on)
 .\n\n \n\nRegister here\n\n \n\nRocío Pichon-Rivière is a scholar\, arti
