UC Riverside Stewardship and Donor Relations, in partnership with the UCR Palm Desert Center, is pleased to invite you to join us for a three-part summer series highlighting UCR’s recently appointed faculty endowed chairs. Sponsored by the university’s giving societies, these events will introduce participants to faculty from across campus, and will provide an opportunity to witness how these enterprising individuals propel research forward, demonstrating the importance of endowed chairs to the UC Riverside community.
The third interview is with Zhiyun Qian, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Everett and Imogene Ross Term Chair in Computer Science.
Qian is associate professor in the computer science and engineering department. His main research interests are in the area of system and network security, including vulnerability discovery, side channel analysis, applied program analysis, system building, and measurement of real-world security problems. He is a recipient of the Applied Networking Research Prize from IRTF in 2019, NSF CAREER Award in 2017, Facebook Internet Defense Prize Finalist in 2016, and the most creative idea award from Geekpwn 2016.
