About this Event
Arts Building, Riverside, CA 92507
The 23 member UC Riverside Jazz Ensemble presents a centennial tribute to the music of trumpeter and composer/arranger Thad Jones. Jones was a prolific composer who, after writing for the Count Basie Orchestra, formed his own orchestra in 1965. This jazz orchestra, still going strong today, is the house jazz band at the renown Village Vanguard in New York City.
Joining the UCR Jazz Ensemble on stage is the UCR jazz combo who will be performing several selections associated with Billie Holiday.
