The Latin American Game Studies Conference / 2nd Conference of Ludo-Critical Studies is a hybrid event scheduled for January 9–11, 2025. The first two days will be hosted at UC Riverside, with the final day, January 11, featuring hybrid sessions accessible online and with in-person participation from Santiago, Chile.

This conference will showcase a range of activities, including keynote lectures by Phill Penix-Tadsen (University of Delaware) and Marco Jaramillo (Universidad Católica de Chile), alongside research presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions. The event focuses on the political dimensions of video games, their production processes, and the communities of developers and players, with a special emphasis on Latin America. However, it also invites political perspectives on games from other regions. Topics will range from explicit representations in games to the more nuanced socio-political implications of gaming culture and industry practices.
