About this Event
View map Free EventCome enjoy and evening of Latin Percussion and Evolving Games at Patio Q on the Pentland Roundabout on Thursday April 20, 5:00-6:30
Join musicians Bayu Wilson and Eloy Neira as they create a percussion jam for all comers.
Nicolas Valdivia will lead a series of Evolving Games - competitive and cooperative - for all ages. Rules make games, but what happens when we start changing them? In this workshop, students will play and learn fundamental aspects of game history (and how old they could be), critical aspects of the art of designing games, and how dynamic interaction of simple elements can create (fun) complex systems.
Jessica Maccaro, PhD candidate in the Entomology department, will show you the fascinating world of insects through poetry. We will have dozens of preserved insects and poetry prompts for you to choose from to explore your relationship to insects. Jessica will also be there to answer any bug-related questions in the process! "
This event is all ages, outdoors, free, and open to the public
The series will continue outdoors Thursday week 7 of spring quarter.
