Moduli spaces of connections with toral singularities

A fundamental problem in the theory of differential equations is the classification of singular differential operators up to gauge equivalence. An algebro-geometric variant of this problem involves the construction of moduli spaces of singular connections. Recently, C. Bremer, N. Livesay, and D. Sage constructed moduli spaces of connections with ``toral singularites.'' The goal of this talk is to give a quick and dirty introduction to these moduli space constructions, including an explicit example.
