This is the second event on the workshop series "Linguistic Justice & Health Equity", an event that gathers scholars from different areas to discuss interdisciplinary approaches to tackle language and its relation with health disparities. This time, Dr. Rachel Showstack will be visiting us from Wichita State University to present about "A Multi-Pronged Approach to Improving Healthcare Language Access for Latine and Indigenous Communities in the U.S." She is a specialist in Spanish as a heritage language, language ideologies, language and healthcare, and community-based language education and leads the organization Alce su Voz that addresses language barriers in healthcare and supports health equity for Spanish-speaking Latinxs in Kansas.
