Hā
An introduction to Māori dance
Louise Potiki Bryant, Visiting Assistant Professor
Nau mai, haere mai.
We would like to invite you to Hā - a showing of waiata (song), haka (dance) and group dance explorations by the DNCE 081 students.
Hā meaning breath or to breathe, acknowledges the process of many of our haka and waiata explorations, which often began with listening to and exploring the nature of our breath.
Each group of students have been inspired by what they have learnt within the DNCE 081 classes and their introduction to Māori dance, in the devising of short group performances.
