Title: Representations of large matrix Lie algebras: an algebraic analogue of functional analysis
Abstract: We will build a panorama of representations of matrix Lie algebras of growing size. We will start with finite dimensions and then go on to an arbitrary cardinal number. For finite cardinals, one recovers the classical "Schur-Weyl combinatorics". In this talk, we will explain its analogues for arbitrary cardinals. The infinite cardinals provide a nice connection to functional analysis.
