Honor Dr.King's legacy by doing service in the commuity!
By participating in MLK Service Day, you'll receive a UCR Volunteer t-shirt and be provided with all supplies necessary to complete your project, including water and snacks. *T-shirts, waters, and snacks are as supplies last.
Here is an outline of our 4 service projects we are offering. Please use the link associated with each service project to register and sign the waiver.

Project #1: Harvesting Oranges with the R’Garden: https://volunteer.ucr.edu/need/detail/?need_id=1026526
- The R' Garden is looking for volunteers interested in helping harvest oranges for the R' Pantry. The R' Garden is a space for students, staff, faculty, and community members. The R' Garden grows a lot of food that is harvested and donated to the R' Pantry for all students to enjoy. Help us harvest this oranges and be a part meeting the basic needs of students on campus! The R' Garden is located at Lot 30

Project #2: Beautification of Highland Park in Riverside: https://volunteer.ucr.edu/need/detail/?need_id=1026846
- The City of Riverside Parks and Recreation department, is looking for volunteers interested in participating in the beautification of Highland Park at 780 Glenhill St. Riverside CA 92507. The Parks division works to ensure that our community's parks are clean. Come join us pickup trash, paint park benches and safety poles, and do a general cleanup of Highland Park.

Project #3: Love Your Neighborhood 2025 New Year, Clean Start Clean-Up: https://volunteer.ucr.edu/need/detail/?need_id=1026908
- Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful (KRCB) is collaborating with UCR MLK Day of Service 2025 to recruit volunteers to clean up surrounding neighborhoods. Through their Love Your Neighborhood program, volunteers will tidy up Downtown Riverside in preparation for the 39th Annual Mayor's State of the City Address. Join us to start the year with a cleaner brighter community!

Project #4: Tree Care at Lincoln Park with Tree People: https://volunteer.ucr.edu/need/detail/?need_id=1027039
- Join Tree People's MLK Day of Service project to help with tree care at Lincoln Park located in Eastside Riverside. Join this Tree Care event to become informed on how to properly do care and maintenance to ensure that our shade trees grow to be healthy for years to come. Lincoln Park has around 30+ trees that you will be caring for. Volunteers will help dig holes for the trees, install stakes and ties, and provide mulch and water for them.
