The walk-a-thon, which starts at the Stratton Community Center and goes to the Riverside Public Library, is an annual event organized by the Riverside African American Historical Society to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

There is a $40 registration fee to participate, but UCR's Student Life has purchased a number of these registrations to gift them to select UCR students to attend for free, while supplies last.

Students can email volunteer@ucr.edu expressing their interest in the walk to claim their spot.
