About this Event
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, the UCR School of Medicine Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion invites you to join us for a lecture by Dr. Maria Crouch titled: Cultural Strength, Historical Trauma, and Substance Use Disorder Among the American Indian and Alaska Native Populations
Maria Crouch (Deg Hit'an and Coahuiltecan Tribes), PhD, is a clinical-community psychologist, an Assistant Professor Adjunct at Yale School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry, and a Senior Behavioral Health Clinician at Southeast Regional Health Corporation. Her program of research is at the intersection of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practice, and practice-based evidence (Indigenous approaches) to address alcohol and drug misuse and social determinants of health among American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
