by UCR MFA Playwrights and Screenwriters    

Featuring plays and screenplays by graduate students in the Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts MFA program. A different work is scheduled for each performance.

TROOP 415 by Ava Fojtik | Directed by Kimberly Guerrero
A creative eighth-grade girl attempts to make friends at her new school by joining her local Girl Scout Troop.

JUNE 8
THE LEGEND OF THE RHINO by Aaron Higareda | Directed by Lillyanna Lopez
An expressionistic play that seeks to find closure for the generational trauma of gang violence for one particular Southern California family.

JUNE 9
LIZZY: A TOTES WOKE RENDITION OF LYSISTRATA by Karly Thomas | Directed by Rickerby Hinds
A well-intentioned hilltern who—upon learning about the leaked Dobbs v. Jackson SCOTUS decision—sparks a global political phenomenon via an “abstinence for reproductive justice” campaign.
