DESCRIPTION:UC Riverside is leading efforts to create a world-renowned hub 
 to create Opportunities to Advance Sustainability\, Innovation\, and Socia
 l Inclusion\, or OASIS.\n\nThe forum will feature an overview of OASIS\, f
 ollowed by a question-and-answer session with representatives from the Off
 ice of the Provost\, Research and Economic Development\, and CE-CERT.\n\nh
 ttps://ucr.zoom.us/s/93007367730 \n\nOASIS will house a set of shared faci
 lities that convenes synergistic research talents and incubator space for 
 technology transfer and startup creation activities. UCR is uniquely posit
 ioned to expand its research\, education\, and economic development activi
 ties related to greenhouse gas emissions\, air quality\, clean energy\, in
 telligent transportation\, agriculture\, natural resources management\, co
 mmunity health and health disparity\, and many other areas of scholarly wo
 rk and creative activities. \n\nResearchers from academia\, industry\, and
  regulatory agencies would interact at OASIS to address today’s critical
  environmental and sustainability issues. The hub will also be a convening
  venue for nonprofit organizations and community groups. OASIS activities 
 will help provide appropriate training to the next generation of researche
 rs\, entrepreneurs\, and business leaders\; create high-paying jobs and ne
 w start-up companies\; and help invigorate the region’s economy. \n\nUCR
  has been working with Riverside County\, City of Riverside\, Riverside Ch
 amber of Commerce\, and several on- and off-campus stakeholders to advance
  the OASIS initiative\, which will reflect the diversity and culture of th
 e Inland Empire and emphasize solving the region’s challenges.
