Professor Blossom Stefaniw is the author of “The Grammarian and his History:  Imagining Christian Knowledge in the Tura Papyri” (University of California Press, 2018) and numerous articles on ancient religion.  She will be talking on masculinity in early Christianity based on her work on asceticism and especially on texts like the Teachings of Silvanus, the Letters of Antony, and the writings of Evagrius Ponticus.
There are two texts to read in advance of the seminar. If you would like to join us, please let me know and I will send you the articles in advance.
