About this Event
Please join a Zoom conversation with Liz Sevcenko (founding director, Humanities Action Lab & International Coalition of Sites of Conscience), about her book, Public History for a Post-Truth Era: Fighting Denial through Memory Movements (Routledge, 2022), documenting participatory public memory projects that have brought people together to address civil rights abuses at Guantánamo, mass incarceration, and climate change. She will be joined by professors Stevie Ruiz (CalState Northridge) and Cathy Gudis (UCR), to discuss community-engaged projects on environmental justice, and how the public humanities can contribute to activating audiences around some of the most pressing social issues we face today.
