Introducing the Remote Research Series:
The Remote Research (RR) Series is a series of events and scholarly panels developed by UCR Library to support the research needs of students, researchers, and faculty during the COVID-19 pandemic. The RR Series will include events throughout the Winter and Spring 2021 quarters. The first of these events is the Remote Research Check-In.
Remote Research Check-In:
This virtual check-in will be a 1-hour facilitated conversation to discuss both the challenges and successes that students, researchers, and faculty members have encountered while adapting their research activities during COVID-19. This event will provide a supportive environment for the UCR community to discuss their concerns and experiences so far regarding remote research. Attendees will be encouraged to share, listen, and meet other students and researchers undergoing similar experiences, as well as to ask questions or give suggestions about research support topics the library might address through future events.
This discussion will be facilitated through Zoom and will not be recorded. Attendees are encouraged to participate as much as they feel comfortable, whether that is as listeners or speakers utilizing any combination of the camera, mic, or chat functions.
