100 Directions for Hip Hop Scholarship:
The State of Hip-Hop Dance Scholarship

This talk is about future directions for hip hop scholarship. Ken Swift has a teaching strategy he calls “100 Rounds of Footwork.” He makes drilling footwork so fun you can  do 100 rounds without giving up or getting bored.  In this talk, I will offer a “100 Directions for Hip Hop Scholarship” addressing how our research relates to the hustle of academia. For me, the satisfaction of that work has to do with collaboration and efforts to create new lanes in the production, circulation and embodiment of ideas.
