Do you need help writing essays for the Fund for Education Abroad or Gilman scholarship? Whether you are struggling with your ideas or simply looking for ways to enhance your writing skills, these drop-in sessions are the perfect opportunity to get the help you need. 

Come to the session prepared with one of the following:

• Questions
• Outline
• Drafts

No registration is required, but it is highly recommended.

Fund for Education Abroad scholarships ($1,000-$5,000)

• Eligibility: Underrepresented undergraduate students with financial need.  
• Recommendation: One recommendation is required.
• Essays: Two. Read sample essays written by UCR students here.
• Deadlines (2): January (summer, fall, and academic year) and September (winter, spring).
• This fall, it is September 18.

Gilman Scholarship ($2,500-$8,000)

• Eligibility: Undergraduate students receiving Pell Grants. Open to U.S. citizens. 
• Recommendation: None is required, but certification is required.
• Essays: Three to five. Read sample essays written by UCR students here.
• Deadlines (2): March and October (all terms).
• This fall, it is October 10.
