Join us to learn about Science Policy in the desert! How is scientific research and government policy being combined to address important issues in desert communities? How can science and policy come together to best serve the communities and desert ecosystems we call home? This event will highlight proposed policy measures from UC Riverside students, solicit community feedback, and provide an opportunity for elected officials to discuss issues important to the Coachella and Imperial Valleys. The Science Policy Showcase is hosted by UC Riverside’s Science to Policy Graduate Student Organization, whose mission it is to mobilize the brightest minds at the university to address society’s most pressing challenges through proactive science advice, practical training, and direct participation in policymaking processes. Come listen to 5-minute lightning talks from an exciting group of scientists inspired by issues in the Coachella and Imperial Valleys. Join us afterwards for a reception and chat with Science to Policy members about topics that are important to you!
